Wohnhaus Gelterkinden

The residential home in Gelterkinden is a socio-pedagogically supervised residential community. Young people from the age of twelve of both sexes live in this integrated residential group. Their caregivers support them in their personal and professional development. The focus is on relationships, clear structures and individual support. During their stay in the residential group, the adolescents and young adults learn to deal with their issues in a goal- and process-oriented manner, to take responsibility for their own actions and to develop their own goals. Young people whose development is at risk receive support, encouragement, education, care and support appropriate to their situation and personality, as well as a protective environment.

The residential home in Gelterkinden supports adolescents and young adults in their personal, social and professional development. The socio-pedagogical presence in the residential group is guaranteed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The young people are supported and encouraged within the framework of the caregiver system.

The culture and attitude of mutual trust, transparency, authenticity and empathy that is exemplified accompanies the young people on their journey. At Wohnhaus Gelterkinden, intensive and direct cooperation with the various systems surrounding the young person (parents, school, internship/apprenticeship companies, therapists, etc.) is just as much a part of the understanding of case management as clearly formulated, goal-oriented and benevolent confrontation and support in dealing with personal development goals. We combine elements of confrontational pedagogy and competence-oriented methodology and focus on the human relationship.

The house is also home to our lovely and cuddly cat, Aiden.
