Rank Lausen

The residential group in Lausen is a socio-pedagogically supervised residential group. Young people from the age of twelve of both sexes who live in the residential group are supported by caregivers in their personal and professional development. The focus is on relationships, clear structures and individual support. During their stay in the residential group, the adolescents and young adults learn to deal with their issues in a goal- and process-oriented manner, to take responsibility for their own actions and to develop their own goals. Young people whose development is at risk receive support, encouragement, education, care and support appropriate to their situation and personality, as well as a protective environment.

The Rank residential group in Lausen BL is a socio-educational, long-term residential care facility for both genders. The residential group offers space for 8 adolescents and young adults who require long-term inpatient accommodation for stabilization, reorientation and development. There is also the opportunity for two further young people to discover independent living in their own apartment. The more independent form of living is intended to help the young people develop the “final” qualities and skills needed to cope with the challenges of economic integration (completing their education) and within the social environment. As in the residential group, these two young people are also looked after by their caregiver in the shared flat and supported in becoming independent.

An existing daily structure (internal or external in a school or training company) is the basic prerequisite for being able to enter the Rank residential group. The length of stay depends on the individual developmental stages of the young person. A progressive further placement, such as a transfer to their own apartment with low-threshold support services, is possible and is aimed at during the course of development with the goal of integration and independence.
