Our horticulture team combines professional garden maintenance with vocational support and sustainable working practices. In the Basel region, we maintain and design private gardens and manage the Erlenhof grounds in Reinach BL as a diverse, relaxing and natural environment. In doing so, we not only create beautiful gardens – we also create valuable opportunities for people on their path into working life.
From the regular maintenance of lawns, meadows, shrubs and hedges to larger garden projects, we carry out a wide range of horticultural and garden maintenance work. This includes, for example, redesigning a seating area, creating new perennial plantings or constructing walls, steps and garden landscapes.
Our professional expertise as a horticultural business is only one part of what we do. Our gardening work is also a key element of vocational support and practical training for gardeners at EBA / EFZ level. The primary mission of our horticultural business is to train people from Erlenhof | Zentrum. During their two- to three-year training programme, they acquire valuable professional and practical skills and gradually learn to take on responsibility. We support people as they enter or re-enter working life. Work should be more than just a task: it provides structure, creates a sense of achievement, strengthens self-confidence and helps shape identity. In a practical working environment, people can discover and develop their abilities and build new professional prospects.

Meet a Sheep
With «meet a sheep», we have created a special branch of our operations that combines nature, animal experiences and vocational support. Our sheep can be «rented» as ecological lawnmowers for private gardens, schools, public spaces and company premises. This allows people to experience and observe the animals up close in their own surroundings.
Our Skudde sheep (around 45–50 cm tall) are among the oldest sheep breeds in the world. Robust, undemanding and lovable, they live outdoors all year round. They mow lawns without noise, exhaust fumes or electricity. And best of all: they do much more than that. By grazing at different heights, they encourage flowers and insects. Their light hooves naturally aerate the soil. And what comes out the other end is the best fertiliser for the garden. The cycle remains closed.
Mit «meet a sheep» bringen wir die Schafe für ein paar Tage in ihren Garten. Wir bauen den Zaun auf, damit alles seine Ordnung hat und zeigen, was die Tiere brauchen.
