WUMA Dorf is located in the center of Reinach and is therefore well connected to public transport and supermarkets, as well as being close to the main Erlenhof | Zentrum site. The residential group consists of eleven unaccompanied minor asylum seekers, who are supported by social pedagogues and migration specialists in their challenging daily structure. Since mid-2022, the caregivers have placed particular emphasis on helping the young people to find their feet in their new environment.
Allowing them to settle in and accept the new individual and group-specific challenges forms the basis of a trusting relationship. This process is always supported by the caregivers on a case-by-case basis. In a nine-storey tower block, the eleven young people have to adhere directly to rules with neighbors. Accordingly, four young people each live in two apartments in the regular WUMA setting, while one apartment serves as a training apartment for three young people. This creates the necessary foundations for our UMAs to live independently in Switzerland in the future. In a culture of cooperation, participation, identification, transparency and individual leisure activities, the young people have the opportunity to develop in the best possible way, learn the German language step by step and gain structure for their lives.
