This service focuses on clarifying possible training and retraining opportunities. The client and the responsible IV office are supported and advised in this process by a specialized vocational coach. This training also includes an assessment and training of suitable aids and compensatory work techniques by specific specialists. The visually impaired vocational assessments start quarterly and last three months. This is followed, if necessary, by further, goal-oriented training as part of the basic technical training for the visually impaired.

This training can only be completed full-time (Monday–Friday).

If required, the visually impaired-specific residential support in Basel can be utilized.

This service offers targeted preparation for initial vocational training: training in the efficient use of aids and compensatory work techniques as well as the development of specialist knowledge in relevant areas.

Basic training for the visually impaired

This service enables the clarification of suitable aids and compensatory work techniques as well as the training of efficient, visually impaired working methods for professional or educational practice.

Basic training for the visually impaired – hybrid lessons

This service enables the clarification of suitable aids and compensatory work techniques as well as the concentrated training of an appropriate working method for professional practice. The training and instruction of aids and work techniques is mainly carried out via distance learning.

Professional training (IT and language diplomas)

Completion of IT and foreign language courses suitable for the visually impaired. If possible, these can be completed with recognized diplomas.

Visually impaired professional clarification

This service allows a well-founded clarification of possible training and retraining options. With the simultaneous clarification of suitable aids and compensatory work techniques, a parallel training program for an efficient way of working is made possible.
