Initial admission UMA BL

The concept of initial reception for UMA BL is a target group-specific initial care program for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (UMA) who are assigned to the Canton of Basel-Landschaft. In particular, this fills the time period between the arrival of UMA in the Canton of Basel-Landschaft and their integration into a standard offer. The main tasks of the initial reception include ensuring basic physical, psychological and legal care as well as the coordination (case management) of the medium to long-term integration process in cooperation with the support services and the municipalities.

Initial admission UMA BL

The initial reception of UMA BL at Erlenhof | Stiftung is responsible for coordinating medium to long-term integration at the beginning of the process. During the initial reception process, initial healthcare and subsequent integration into the healthcare system is ensured in collaboration with the internal migration outpatient clinic.

In the process of integration into a medium to long-term subsequent placement, the initial reception of UMA BL focuses in particular on the existing educational offers of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft. In justified cases (resources or potential of the young person, availability of offers, etc.), specific educational and/or work integration offers can also be set up in consultation with the guardianship office and the Office for Child, Youth and Disability Services. If there is no regular structure, it is possible to receive language support in connection with employment in the potential future training company.

In both cases – during or after the initial admission process – the Erlenhof | Stiftung provides specific residential offers, an internal school with individual schooling and vocational and work integration offers (accredited by Basel-Landschaft social welfare) if suitable and necessary.
